Description
Chapoutier produces the most interesting wines in the Rhone Valley and since 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took charge, the quality has reached new heights. Michel's vision is impressive and his dedication to understanding each parcel of land and allowing it to make the best natural wine, is breathtaking. He has worked tirelessly to improve every practise in his company, investing in his staff, as well as in the winery and vineyard - much of his estate is now farmed biodynamically.
The grapes for this organic wine are grown on terraced slopes dominated by the famed Chateauneuf quartz based pudding stones and clay and they are harvested by hand. This rich, deep crimson wine is aged in oak barrels and vats for 15 to 18 months.
The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape has abundant aromas of sweet blackcurrents and cherries, Mediterranean herbs and spice. This wine is ready to be enjoyed now.
