Sirius Bordeaux Rouge
- Named after the brightest star in the solar system, Sirius is a regular medal winner in international competitions and shows just how good a wine from the basic Bordeaux category can be.
- Sirius is Maison Sichel's flagship brand and benefits from a level of investment generally reserved for Grands Crus.
- Drinking well now.
In practical terms, each stage of the process from the selection of the grapes right through to bottling is treated with the utmost care and with one aim: to produce a top quality wine, truly representative of Bordeaux.
Sirius is a moderrn classic, which combines elegance and character. A deep ruby colour, expressive aromas. The tannins are ripe and balance the blackcurrant and berry flavours. A touch of vanilla and toast adds extra interest.
The vineyards are located along the banks of the Garonne river, on mainly clay-limestone soils. The vines have an average age of 30 years and the wine is a traditional composition of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Once the vats are blended, Sirius is aged in French oak barriques for 12 months.
(65% Merlot - 35% Cabernet Sauvignon)
