Description
The estate's vineyards are located in several crus of the Languedoc, including La Livini in the Minervois region and now controls some of the oldest and highest vineyards in this extremely sought-after area.
The three winds that blow through the Languedoc can be relied upon to do two things: make landing at Carcassonne airport a hair-raising experience and drive the weather in unpredictable directions. The windsock at Carcassonne airport is the basis for the label.
The Languedoc has been traditionally known for it's large area of vineyards producing volume table wines but things have changed rapidly over the last decade. The revolution is in full swing and Domaine Gayda is in the centre of these changes.
Having a passion for the classic grape varieties planted in the area (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Cinsault for the reds) the estate benefits from a mature, ripe and healthy crop at harvest.
Just in case you're interested, the three winds are: Le Cers, La Tramontane and Le Marin.
