Description
Fred Loimer owns 60 hectares of vineyards around Langenlois, in the sunny Kamptal region of Lower Austria. Fred gets full ripeness in the grapes and so his wines have lovely definition, zest and balance.
Situated as high as 400m above sea level, the climate of the Kamp Valley is characterised by cool nights and warm days, with a sunny autumn. The summer temperatures are mitigated by the River Danube and the Waldviertel (forested area). It's long growing season and the difference in temperature between night and day gives the grapes time to develop attractive flavours.
Lois is bright lemon yellow in colour with a refreshing aroma of crisp green apples and grapefruit. The wine has a subtle hint of white pepper, which is characteristic of the grape variety.
