Hours of tasting and then more tasting, plus a little study! The flagship qualification awarded by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, London and achieved by Team FW is the Diploma. This is a specialist qualification, where detailed knowledge is combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.
About Our Leaders
Formula Wine was founded by Lara and Paul and it all started about 10 years ago at 30,000 feet! As a member of cabin crew, Lara trained to serve in First Class and was enrolled on an introductory wine course. Paul spent much of his time working in Europe and on days off they would tour the vineyards and enjoy a liquid lunch! Enthusiastic to learn more about wine, Lara decided to broaden her horizon and swap cabin pressure for that of the classroom. En route to the south of France for some fun in the sun, - after several years of study and a certificate later, - the concept of Formula Wine started to take shape. Lara and Paul had the ambitious vision, to offer authentic wines at the most competitive prices and to design a dynamic website as the platform, which would stand out from the crowd. With hard work, determination and creative development by an invincible tech team, the Formula Wine dream eventually became reality. Today, Formula Wine offers an enviable portfolio, with great new discoveries being added continually. As a company, we stand firm by our commitment to list interesting, enjoyable wines, handpicked by our merry bunch of experts and ... oh yes, expect First Class service as standard.
